Ozone therapy

Ozone in medicine

The application of ozone in medical therapy was first documented in European medical journals in the mid-1930s. Since that time, over a thousand articles have been published in medical and scientific journals, mostly in German, Russian and Spanish. The first physician to treat cancer with ozone was Dr. W. Zable, in late 1950s, followed by Drs. P.G. Seeger, A. Varro and H. Werkmeister.

Horst Kief is believed to have been the first doctor to use ozone therapy to treat patients infected with HIV. He also pioneered the development of autohomologous immunotherapy (AHOT) using ozone, which can be used to treat a wide variety of diseases that are resistant to traditional medical therapy. Dr. Kief commented on why so little government-sponsored and drug company research is taking place, regarding ozone therapy: "Nobody in the pharmaceutical industry can sell ozone. That's the main reason. When we can find a way to sell ozone, I am sure that ozone will be the most important drug in the world."

Used primarily to kill viruses, destroy bacteria, and eliminate fungi, ozone produces important benefits in the human body, including the oxygenation of blood, improved blood circulation, and stimulation of the oxygen-producing facility in human tissues. It is also an important immunoregulator.

At the Europe-based Medical Society for Ozone (with branches in Germany, Austria, Italy, and Switzerland) and the National Center for Scientific Research in Cuba, physicians are currently treating the following diseases with different forms of ozone therapy:

abscesses; acne; AIDS; allergies; arthritis; arthrosis; asthma; cancerous tumors; cerebral sclerosis; circulatory disturbances; cirrhosis of the liver; corneal ulcers; cystitis; fungal diseases; furunculosis; gangrene; gastro-duodenal ulcer; giardiasis; hepatitis; herpes (simplex and zoster); hypercholesterolemia; mucous colitis; mycosis; Parkinson's disease; pneumonias; pleurisy; polyarthritis; Raynaud's disease; rheumatoid arthritis; sinusitis; spondylitis; thrombophlebitis; wound-healing disturbances; and others.

According to Michael T. F. Carpendale, M.D., a pioneer ozone researcher and professor of orthopedic surgery at the University of California School of Medicine:

"In the FDA, the drug companies have representatives on nearly all the committees. If there's something which may be very effective but may undersell the average drug company, of course they are not going to be very pleased if it gets developed. It might be very difficult for them to compete with that. And ozone is obviously inexpensive to produce, it is very potent and if it works half as well as the Germans claim it does, everyone should be using it."
